Revit MEP – The Language of the Construction Industry!

Autodesk’s Revit is a BIM – Building Information Modelling Software. As the name suggests, BIM has got something to do with buildings and civil structures. The software allows users to design a building and structure and its components in 3D, annotate the model with 2D drafting elements, and access building information from the building model’s database. Originally, this software was developed by Charles River Software in 1997. After that, it was renamed Revit in 2000, and bought by CAD software giant, Autodesk, in 2002 for 133 million cash!
Revit is software with a wide userbase. It is used by architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers, designers, and contractors, basically everyone related to building a civil structure and construction. This makes it an essential must know for anyone thinking of working in this industry. Because of the various use cases, Revit has been further broken down into two parts – Revit MEP and Revit Architectural and Structural. In this blog, let’s explore further on Revit MEP.
